The group show Tschechows Gewehr plays on the most often tabooed field which is stretched out between on the one hand History and on the other folklore, and the narrative modes in which both are communicated; these modes expressed in artworks include questions of authorship, characterized by a negotiation between the individual and the collective.



Claudia Apollonia Apel (*1982, Dresden) lives and works in Hamburg. Educated at the Hochschule für bildende Künste Hamburg.

Florent Dubois (*1990, Besançon (FR)) lives and works in Franche-Comté (FR). Educated at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Lyon.

Caspar Sänger (*1988, Tübingen) lives and works in Hamburg. MFA student at the Hochschule für bildende Künste Hamburg.

Arthur Tiar (*1988, Paris) lives and works in Paris. BFA Student at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris and co-founder of the publishing collective RÉCIT.
